The first experience in the industry was in design. David DeFelice, along with two business partners, created DSI, "Design Services, Inc." DSI revolutionized the sandblast production of monuments with the use of CAD systems that produced pre-cut sandblast stencil designs.
David got his basic knowledge of monuments, sand blasting, and the production process through DSI, which started in Vermont and moved to Florida for a few years, where it flourished and spread nationwide.
In the late 80s, David moved back to Vermont and went to work for one of the premiere granite manufacturers in the country as a sales representative in the mid-west. With an established costumer base from DSI and the firepower of a manufacturer, offering everything from granite markers, monuments, mausoleums and bronze, he established a large following.
In the late 90s, NGMC diversified and started working with one of the finest makers of corporate furniture in the world. NGMC lends expertise to architects in stone selection, managing intricate fabrication and overseeing complete installation. Products include credenzas, lecterns, reception desks and large boardroom tables in the most exotic stones on the planet.
In 1990, Northfield Granite and Marble Company was established. The idea was to offer design consultation and product to the memorial trade with on time delivery. With trusted manufacturers and independent craftsman, NGMC produces the finest quality at competitive prices.
In 1995, Aimee Farnum joined the team as office manager and is an intricate part of the personal service our customers enjoy.
